Physician - specialty - Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist with subspecialty training in Gastrointestinal/Hepatic Pathology and Hematopathology

I am the medical director (not owner) at a small clinical and translational research lab. There are a total of 4 full time pathologists as well as a contracted dermatopathologist. Given the healthcare climate our private practice position has been shrinking. Our group had been 14; however, one of the large Healthcare systems wanted exclusivity and therefore required a split in the group where the other half is essentially working for the large healthcare system. Our practice now covers 2 smaller community hospitals and a number of smaller doctors offices, endoscopy and surgical centers. As the large healthcare behemoth slowly takes over we are continually fighting to keep the accounts we have and stay independent. We are looking to expand, possibly into other states (however, this would entail licensing in your state), if physicians of good will would be interested in sending their biopsies to our lab.
